Eating out can be tricky, but more and more places are offering gluten-free options. Remember to always double-check with the staff to ensure your meal is safe. As you dine out more the more comfortable you will be asking staff for help. It won’t take long for you to get the swing of things.

- Try and plan ahead. Check the menu online or give them a ring 📞. Most places also have an allergen guide as well.
- Most places will ask if anyone has any allergies as you’re being seated. Let them know as soon as you can. Also, if you’ve booked the table 🍴, there might be a section for notes—use it to inform them about your allergies.
- I have a toddler 👶, so sometimes I need to cut up his food. Remember to use separate utensils and resist the temptation to pick at your kid’s plate, no matter how good it looks. Unless it’s gluten free as well of course. 😂
- Takeaways can be a bit tricky, but there are some great ones out there that label their food gluten-free. If you’re unsure, give them a call 📞 to confirm they’re aware of your dietary requirements.
- Don’t be embarrassed to ask about their gluten free menu, any restaurant worth its salt will have this information at its fingertips.
