From Gaming to Writing: How My New Favorite Hobby Changed Everything

What do you enjoy doing most in your leisure time?

It’s funny how our hobbies can change over time. If you’d asked me a few years ago what I loved doing in my free time, I’d have told you, without hesitation, that it was playing computer games. There’s something about escaping into a virtual world, solving puzzles, or losing myself in a good RPG that was hard to beat. But recently, I’ve noticed a shift in what I actually enjoy doing in my downtime.

These days, writing has become my favourite way to spend my leisure time. There’s a kind of magic in sitting down with a blank page, letting the words flow, and turning thoughts into something real. It feels both creative and productive, but also incredibly calming—almost like a way to reconnect with myself in a way gaming never did.

That’s not to say I’ve completely given up on gaming (I’ll always have a soft spot for my Xbox), but writing has become my new source of relaxation and joy. Whether it’s blogging, brainstorming, or just jotting down ideas, writing is where I’ve found my rhythm.

Some of the earlier images on this site are AI-generated because, let’s be honest, I had neither the time nor the skills to snap Pinterest-worthy photos while juggling another job. But hey, practice makes progress! These days, I’m feeling much braver behind the camera. Happy reading (and judging my photos), everyone!
