Top Reasons Superstore is a Must-Watch Series

Daily writing prompt
What movies or TV series have you watched more than 5 times?

In our household, Superstore has become more than just a TV show—it’s practically a member of the family. We’ve watched it so many times we’ve lost count, and it often plays in the background as we go about our daily routines. No matter how familiar the episodes are, it never fails to make us laugh.

Superstore is a workplace comedy that aired from 2015 to 2021, following the lives of employees at the fictional Cloud 9 superstore in St. Louis, Missouri. The series features a talented ensemble cast, including America Ferrera, Ben Feldman, and Lauren Ash, who bring to life the quirky and diverse staff navigating the chaos of retail life. The show’s ability to blend humour with sharp social commentary earned it critical acclaim, especially in its later seasons.

One of the show’s biggest strengths is its cast of distinct and relatable characters. Amy Sosa (America Ferrera) starts as a floor supervisor, juggling her job with raising a teenage daughter. Jonah Simms (Ben Feldman) is a college dropout with an idealistic outlook that often clashes with the realities of retail. Dina Fox (Lauren Ash), the intense and by-the-book assistant manager, adds a unique dynamic with her no-nonsense attitude and offbeat personality. Together, they handle everything from difficult customers to corporate nonsense, making the series both funny and surprisingly heartfelt.

For us, Superstore has transcended typical viewing—it’s become a source of comfort and connection. Its episodes play in the background during everyday moments, offering consistent amusement and a sense of familiarity. The characters feel like old friends, and their comedic misadventures continue to make us laugh, no matter how many times we’ve seen them.

Superstore isn’t just a show; it’s a constant in our lives—a reliable source of laughter and comfort as we navigate the ups and downs of daily life.

Here are a few quotes from Superstore that have always resonated with me:

  • Garrett: “I’ve taken four breaks today, so I guess we both got stuff to brag about.”
  • Garrett: “It’ll never be said that Garrett McNeill did not do just enough to not get fired.”
  • Jonah: “You never know. One day you might even like me.”
  • Amy: “I hated how you believed that life could be better than it was. But here we are. And my life is so much better than it was. Because of you.”
  • Cheyenne Lee: “I want to show Bo. He’s never seen me in a video with clothes on.”

Some of the earlier images on this site are AI-generated because, let’s be honest, I had neither the time nor the skills to snap Pinterest-worthy photos while juggling another job. But hey, practice makes progress! These days, I’m feeling much braver behind the camera. Happy reading (and judging my photos), everyone!
