Tiny Sprouts, Big Dreams: My Biquinho Red Pepper Seedlings

A tiny Biquinho Red (Pearl Pepper) seedling emerging from dark, moist soil. The seedling has two small, bright green cotyledon leaves with a slight fuzz on the stem.

I’ve been keeping a close eye on my three little pots, and finally—my Biquinho Red (Pearl Pepper) seedlings have sprouted! There’s something ridiculously satisfying about seeing those first tiny leaves appear. One minute, it’s just soil, and the next, life has arrived.

Right now, they’re still small and delicate, just two little leaves each, but I’m already picturing them covered in bright red, teardrop-shaped peppers. Biquinho Reds have a mild, smoky sweetness—perfect for snacking, pickling, or throwing into a dish for a bit of extra flavour.

For now, I’m just making sure they get enough warmth, light, and water—basically, trying not to mess things up! It’s a waiting game at this stage, but that’s part of the fun.

If you’ve got any tips for growing peppers (especially Biquinho Reds), I’d love to hear them! Any advice would be warmly welcomed—I’m always up for learning from fellow plant enthusiasts.

Some of the earlier images on this site are AI-generated because, let’s be honest, I had neither the time nor the skills to snap Pinterest-worthy photos while juggling another job. But hey, practice makes progress! These days, I’m feeling much braver behind the camera. Happy reading (and judging my photos), everyone!
