My Morning Rituals: A Gluten-Free Start to the Day

A glass mug with a handle, filled with a layered latte macchiato. The drink has distinct layers of steamed milk, espresso, and frothy milk foam on top. The mug sits on a dark brown surface, with soft lighting highlighting the textures and colours of the coffee.

What are your morning rituals? What does the first hour of your day look like?

Mornings at my place are pretty predictable—because if they weren’t, I’d be wandering around in a fog, trying to remember what day it is.

First up: breakfast. It’s always the same—gluten-free cornflakes or honey nut cornflakes. No experiments, no surprises, just a safe, reliable start to the day. I’d love to say I switch it up, but honestly, who has the brainpower for that first thing in the morning?

Then, the real MVP: coffee. Non-negotiable, absolutely essential, and the only thing keeping me from being a complete zombie. That first sip? That’s when I officially wake up. Before that, I’m just a guy staring at his cereal, hoping the milk pours itself.

Once the caffeine kicks in, the day can begin—work, parenting, and whatever else life throws at me. But that first hour? That belongs to breakfast and coffee.

What about you? Are you one of those rare morning people, or do you also need caffeine to function?

Some of the earlier images on this site are AI-generated because, let’s be honest, I had neither the time nor the skills to snap Pinterest-worthy photos while juggling another job. But hey, practice makes progress! These days, I’m feeling much braver behind the camera. Happy reading (and judging my photos), everyone!
