I wasn’t planning to stop. I was just heading out to pick Ollie up from nursery—same route I take pretty much every weekday. But then I glanced up and this tree was just… there. Full-on spring mode. Covered in thick, white blossom like it was auditioning for a floral fireworks display.
You know those moments where something catches you off guard in the best way? That was this.
For a second, I forgot the usual brain-chatter. No thinking about what to make for tea, no mentally running through my inbox—just me and a tree, standing there like a daft idiot with my mouth half open, staring at blossom like it was magic. Because, to be fair… it kind of was.
I took a quick photo—nothing fancy, just a snap on my phone. And yeah, there’s a car creeping in at the edge of the frame, but honestly? That feels right. Life isn’t polished. It’s messy and rushed and full of weird little moments where you’re doing something normal and suddenly nature just socks you in the face with beauty.
Ollie didn’t notice the tree, of course. He was pretending to be a digger when I got to the gate. But that minute or two, standing there in the quiet, felt like a gift I didn’t know I needed.
So yeah—this post is just a little nod to spring, surprise beauty, and those tiny pauses in our day that remind us to look up.
Because sometimes, on the way to nursery, you find a bit of magic in the trees.
