Mornings have always been when I’m at my sharpest. There’s something almost sacred about that short, quiet window before emails start buzzing, kids wake up, and the rest of the world pulls you in a hundred directions. If I can carve out just an hour or two of real focus early on, it feels like I get more done than I would fumbling through an entire afternoon.
My best mornings usually kick off with a good coffee and a rough sketch of what I want to knock out first — nothing fancy, just a few bullet points. That little bit of clarity right out of the gate makes a world of difference. If I put it off until later, I can feel my energy tanking, my focus slipping, and suddenly I’m stuck in busywork instead of real progress.
Of course, life isn’t always neat. Some mornings are total chaos, and now and then, my brain decides to spark up at 10pm instead. But for the most part, if I’m going to be consistent, it’s happening in the morning.
Honestly, I think the real trick is just paying attention to your own rhythms instead of trying to cram yourself into a schedule that doesn’t fit. Once I stopped pretending I was a night owl, everything just got a little less frustrating.
When do you feel like you’re at your best? Have you figured out your rhythm, or is it still a work in progress?
