The Bonus Gluten Free Christmas Dish We Always Make

When people talk about Christmas dinner they usually focus on the main event whether that is turkey, duck or goose. But in our house the real magic comes from the extra dish we always prepare a beautifully cooked gluten free gammon. In fact we make two types every single year.

The first is our classic version a festive gammon simmered gently with carrots, onions and leeks. It is one of those cosy Christmas food traditions that fills the house with seasonal comfort while the main bird takes over the oven.

The second is our indulgent one a maple glazed gammon that turns sticky golden and impossible to resist. If you want to see the version that inspired it you can read my older post here Maple Glazed Ham Recipe.

Two gammons might sound over the top but they bring the best of both worlds comfort and indulgence and both are naturally gluten free. If you are looking for festive gammon inspiration or just love a good Christmas tradition this is ours every single year.

May contain humour definitely does not contain gluten.

Do you or your family make any special dishes for the holidays?

Some of the earlier images on this site are AI-generated because, let’s be honest, I had neither the time nor the skills to snap Pinterest-worthy photos while juggling another job. But hey, practice makes progress! These days, I’m feeling much braver behind the camera. Happy reading (and judging my photos), everyone!
