The Green Man Inn, Brackley Hatch, Near Silverstone

So this is a bit of a late review but well worth the effort of letting you know of our experience. Just off the A43 and about a 15 minute drive from the Silverstone Circuit 🏎️ it’s a prime location pub with excellent food and service.

We actually went on a Sunday after visiting family and so decided we didn’t want to cook when we got back home. Instead we booked a table and looked forward to a pub Sunday roast. The wife and I actually ordered the same which we did not regret at all. The 7-hour Slow-Cooked Rib of Beef 🥩 was a meal that made my eyes pop when I saw it arrive.

The service👩‍🍳 was amazing, and they were super attentive when asking if any of us had any allergies. Throughout the entire meal, they double-checked with me about my dishes, which gave me a lot of confidence that everything was genuinely gluten-free.

The beef was absolutely amazing—so tender and flavorful. The potatoes🥔 were lovely: crispy on the outside and fluffy inside. The dish was accompanied by a delicious slab of stuffing and a medley of vegetables, including carrots🥕, cabbage, and leeks. The gravy was a rich, luscious jus that complemented the dish perfectly. The only downside was the Yorkshire puddings, which were hard and not very pleasant to eat.

Verdict

Overall the dish was very good. The beef was to die for and to be honest one of the best beef🥩 roasts I have ever had out. Everything complemented the dish really well and it’s such a shame that the Yorkshire Puddings let the rest down. As for the service I was very impressed as they were very attentive and made me feel very comfortable as some restaurants have done. I would definitely go again and would recommend anyone in the area to take the opportunity and have a great dining out experience.

Some of the earlier images on this site are AI-generated because, let’s be honest, I had neither the time nor the skills to snap Pinterest-worthy photos while juggling another job. But hey, practice makes progress! These days, I’m feeling much braver behind the camera. Happy reading (and judging my photos), everyone!
