Well there is nothing worse than ordering from a takeaway after been told that they are gluten free and regretting it shortly after.
You grill the person on the phone to make sure it is. They even tell you what you shouldn’t be eating. You end the call surprised at what you can actually eat and can’t wait to get stuck in.
30 mins later
You start to eat with your family and it isn’t until about 30 mins later that you realise you were a stupid idiot for thinking you might have found a nice place to eat. The next 7 days are not nice at all.
This obviously was a mistake I made when I was first was diagnosed as having coeliac disease. Over the years I have learnt to research before I eat out or takeaway. This isn’t the case so much recently as the awareness of gluten free has grown a considerable amount. But i don’t think it’s ever going to be perfect so it’s best to always be careful and prepare for the worst.
