Trying to pick a favourite recipe is not easy when your a foodie, even harder when your gluten free. Over the years I’ve cooked and loved so many meals that it’s nearly impossible to narrow it down.
- The addictive crunch of air fried pasta a meal that sounds ridiculous until you try it 🍝. Not only crunchy, and chewy but soft as well. All three textures if you get it just right.
- The comfort of a classic spaghetti bolognese, always better reheated the next day 🍷.
- A bubbling lasagna, layered with enough cheese to fix most of life’s problems 🧀.
- Juicy burgers stacked so high you need a game plan just to eat them 🍔.
- Steak and Camembert mash, for when I’m pretending to know fine dining 🥩🍤.
- The homely goodness of sausage and mash, made even better with a jug of rich onion gravy 🥔🧅.
- Loaded fries, basically permission to pile a whole meal on top of chips 🍟.
- Pizza, the ultimate win when you find a gluten free base that actually tastes like pizza, and toppings which are just to die for 🍕.
- And of course, creamy, indulgent mac and cheese because sometimes the only answer is cheese. Lots of cheese 🧀❤️.
All of these meals have their moments, and all of them make regular appearances on The GF Table and at home. But if I had to pick one ultimate favourite? It has to be the good old roast beef dinner 🥩. Crispy roast potatoes, rich gluten free gravy, proper Yorkshire puddings, and that inevitable post roast nap on the sofa (easier said than done with a four year old running around).
Because at the end of the day, food isn’t just about eating, it’s about comfort, tradition, and sharing a plate piled high with the people you love ❤️.
So while I’ll never turn down onion gravy with sausage and mash or a bubbling lasagna, the roast dinner will always win for me.
