Every Meal Has to Work

Claymation-style bearded man smiling while writing in a notebook at a wooden desk, with a coffee mug, bird feeder outside the window, and potted plant in the background.

I have shared a new piece over on Substack called Every Meal Has to Work.

It came out of a bad lunch, a lack of options, and the quiet frustration that follows when food plans fall apart and there is no easy backup.

This is not a recipe post or a guide. It is a reflective piece about the less visible side of coeliac life. The constant planning. The lack of flexibility. The small moments that never feel dramatic enough to explain, but still take their toll.

If you live with coeliac disease, or any condition that removes spontaneity around food, this will probably feel familiar.

Some of the earlier images on this site are AI-generated because, let’s be honest, I had neither the time nor the skills to snap Pinterest-worthy photos while juggling another job. But hey, practice makes progress! These days, I’m feeling much braver behind the camera. Happy reading (and judging my photos), everyone!
