From Cooking to Gaming: 5 Things I Love Doing for Fun

Daily writing prompt
List five things you do for fun.

Life is all about those little moments that bring us joy, right? Here are five things that make my days brighter and keep me feeling balanced:

  1. Cooking Gluten-Free Creations
    • The kitchen is my happy place. Even before I was diagnosed with coeliac disease, I loved to cook. I enjoy experimenting with gluten-free recipes, tweaking flavours, and creating dishes that everyone can enjoy. It’s a mix of creativity, trial and error, and—best of all—delicious results!
  2. Playing Video Games
    • Gaming is my go-to escape. Whether I’m exploring vast RPG worlds or diving into a sci-fi adventure on my Xbox Series X, it’s my way of unwinding and enjoying interactive storytelling at its best.
  3. Getting Lost in Fiction
    • I’m a massive fan of sci-fi, fantasy, and horror books. There’s nothing like being transported to another world, whether it’s an epic galaxy far away, a magical realm, or a creepy haunted house. Reading helps me recharge and sparks my imagination.
  4. Relaxing with Family
    • Spending time with my wife and son is one of my favourite things to do. Whether we’re playing games, going on adventures, or just watching TV and debating over what we’ve seen, these moments are full of fun, laughter, and connection.
  5. Writing and Blogging
    • Writing has become one of my favourite ways to express myself, whether I’m sharing gluten-free tips or just reflecting on life. It’s not something I’ve been doing for long, but it’s quickly become a passion. Blogging gives me a chance to connect with others who get it and it has done wonders for my confidence along the way. I never thought I’d enjoy it as much as I do, but now I can’t imagine not writing!

What about you? How do you like to spend your time? I’d love to hear about the things that bring you joy!

A bearded man with slicked-back dark hair and a maroon polo shirt smiling warmly while holding a grey mug of coffee towards the camera.

Some of the earlier images on this site are AI-generated because, let’s be honest, I had neither the time nor the skills to snap Pinterest-worthy photos while juggling another job. But hey, practice makes progress! These days, I’m feeling much braver behind the camera. Happy reading (and judging my photos), everyone!
