The Transition to Gluten Free Living – A Poem

Daily writing prompt
Describe a phase in life that was difficult to say goodbye to.

I used to eat without a care,

Midnight pizza, a meal to share.

A sandwich, pasta, lunch, and dinner,

Life was simple, and I was a winner.

But now I’m a detective, sharp and keen,

Scouring labels, searching for what’s unseen.

Grilling staff with a knowing stare,

Is this safe for me? I have to be aware.

Gone are the days of carefree bites,

Now I watch for crumbs, avoid the fights.

No more wild eating, free and bold,

Just vigilance and caution, as I’ve been told.

A bearded man with slicked-back dark hair and a maroon polo shirt smiling warmly while holding a grey mug of coffee towards the camera.

Some of the earlier images on this site are AI-generated because, let’s be honest, I had neither the time nor the skills to snap Pinterest-worthy photos while juggling another job. But hey, practice makes progress! These days, I’m feeling much braver behind the camera. Happy reading (and judging my photos), everyone!
