My Day at the Northamptonshire Gluten-Free Festival: Coeliac-Safe Food, Talks & Community

Yesterday was an absolute whirlwind — and I loved every second of it. 💚

The Northamptonshire Gluten-Free Festival was buzzing with energy, packed full of brilliant stalls, friendly faces, and some of the most mouth-watering gluten free foods I’ve had in ages. I’m still thinking about a few of them today (and trying not to demolish the lot before I get round to writing them up!).

It was such a joy to be part of the day — to chat with people, swap stories, and feel genuinely part of something special. Whether you came along for the food, the talks, the shopping, or just to say hi — thank you. You made it what it was.

And yes — I actually went through with the talk! No last-minute cancellations. No hiding in the car park. No pretending to be “just a blogger” and slinking off quietly. 😂 I was genuinely nervous… but as soon as I stood in front of everyone, I loved it. Maybe I fumbled the slides a bit, but it was such a buzz getting to chat with everyone and share a bit of my story.

I also got to meet some absolute stars — including the always brilliant Sonny the Coeliac, the team from Yau’s Food whose curry pastes are unreal, the lovely folks at Poet’s Bakery, and the ever-supportive Gluten Free Little Cook, who all bring such brilliant energy to the gluten-free community.

And a massive thank you has to go to Nicola Walpole for pulling it all together. I know how much work went into organising the day — and it truly paid off. You smashed it.

✨ Over the next few days, I’ll be posting more about the food I discovered, the surprises that caught me off guard, and a few more reflections on the festival. There’s lots to share, and I can’t wait to relive the day all over again with you.

Keep an eye out — and as always, may contain humour, definitely doesn’t contain gluten 😉

There’s more where that came from, gluten free recipes 🍝, coeliac rants, symptom spirals 🤢 and food fails that should probably be reported to someone 🚨.

Wish I could have come. Did you get to try the Voakes’ scotch egg?

Some of the earlier images on this site are AI-generated because, let’s be honest, I had neither the time nor the skills to snap Pinterest-worthy photos while juggling another job. But hey, practice makes progress! These days, I’m feeling much braver behind the camera. Happy reading (and judging my photos), everyone!
