My Favourite Gluten Free Chocolate and Sweets in the UK

Selection of gluten free chocolate and sweets available in UK supermarkets including Curly Wurly, Kinder Chocolate, NOMO and Drumstick Squashies.

A buyer guide to some of the best gluten free foods in the UK sweets aisle

Last Updated

Finding gluten free chocolate and sweets should be easy but if you live with coeliac disease you quickly learn that nothing in the sweets aisle can be taken for granted.

Some chocolate bars are naturally gluten free, others are produced in factories that handle wheat and sometimes products that used to be safe suddenly change recipe or manufacturing process. What looks like a simple treat can easily turn into five minutes standing in the supermarket aisle reading labels.

Over the years I have gradually built up a mental list of chocolate bars and sweets that I trust. Some are mainstream supermarket favourites that happen to be labelled gluten free in the UK, while others come from dedicated free from brands or small producers I have discovered at gluten free events and festivals.

This guide brings all of those together in one place.

Below you will find a mixture of chocolate bars, chewy sweets, sour sweets, jelly beans and even a couple of artisan fudge producers that I have come across along the way. These are all gluten free foods that I personally enjoy and would happily recommend to anyone navigating the gluten free sweets aisle.

Some of these treats are widely available in major UK supermarkets, while others are smaller discoveries from food festivals or specialist producers. I will keep updating this guide whenever I find something new worth adding.

A few of the chocolate bars are taken from my World Chocolate Day 2025 post I did last year. This post is to get them all added to one comprehensive list, where chocolate lovers can easily find their favourites, and also add my beloved selection of sweets to the collection. Whether you’re a fan of rich, dark chocolate or prefer the sweet taste of milk chocolate, this list aims to cater to all palates and preferences, ensuring that no one has to miss out on the pleasure of these delectable goodies.

For now though, here are some of my favourite gluten free chocolate and sweets currently available in the UK.

Quick list of gluten free chocolate and sweets in the UK

Always check the packaging carefully as ingredients and manufacturing processes can change. Some sweets are clearly labelled gluten free, while others simply contain no gluten containing ingredients. In some cases you may also see a may contain warning for wheat or gluten, which indicates a risk of cross contamination during production.

The products listed in this guide are included because they either carry a gluten free label or contain no gluten containing ingredients and no may contain warning at the time of writing. However it is always important to check the packaging yourself before consuming any product.
