To say this is the best carrotš„ cake I have ever had would not be an exaggeration. It’s a real shame it took me so long to visit this charming cafĆ©āļø in Wellingborough. I’ve been hearing rave reviews about Ugly Mug on The GF Table group on Facebook, and they came highly recommended for their gluten-free cakes. So off we wentāmy wife, our three-year-old son, and Iāto pick up some cakesš° at lunchtime. And wow, they did not disappoint!

Getting the cake to go was a big win, but the cafĆ© looked so inviting inside that I’ll definitely be back soon for a sit-down mealš„ . I was served by Chloe (who was incredibly helpful and is in the featured photo), and she informed me that the carrot cake was gluten-free. My eyesš lit up when I saw the generous size of the cake as she picked it off the shelf.

As you can see by the pictures, the cakeš° is a fantastic size, and OMG, it was sensational! So moist and an absolute delight to eat. The frostingš§ was perfect and irresistibly tasty, and the cake itself was simply divine.

The photo above captures my son in his happyš place, devouring a Freddy non-gluten-free chocolateš« brownie. The little guy gobbled it up like a professional dessert critic on a mission!

Verdict
The carrot cake was so good, Iād make it a daily ritual if I could! The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the experience even better. Itās heartwarming to see businesses going the extra mile to support people with gluten intolerances. And the best part? They serve what I can only describe as the most heavenly carrotš„ cakeš° Iāve ever had.
