The Price of Gluten-Free Living: A Costly Affair

As you all know, prices💰for gluten-free food are much higher than normal food. This week’s shopping just highlighted it even more, and it does make you wonder how a lot of people cope with the rising cost of just being able to eat🍽️ safely. With gluten-free prescriptions also under threat, it makes it even worse. I myself, in the location where I live, can’t get gluten-free prescriptions👩‍⚕️ anymore, and I’ve heard that other counties are following suit. It’s a sorry state of affairs, to be honest, and it’s a bit worrying if these prices keep on growing.

I’m really hopeful that petitions, like the one started by Coeliac UK, will spur the government into action, ensuring that people with this autoimmune disease get the support they truly deserve.

Having been diagnosed with Coeliac Disease over 8 years ago but also suffering from symptoms for about 30 years, I decided to take action. A few years back, I launched a Facebook group to help fellow gluten-free diners in Milton Keynes find the best places to eat. The group quickly became a little sensation. Encouraged by this success, I created another group for the Northampton area a couple of years later. Both groups have become a useful resource for people searching for gluten-free dining options in their respective areas.

Recently, I took a bold step to expand even further and launched The GF Table UK. My mission? To share my journey, experiences, and insights on living a gluten-free lifestyle and to help others navigate their own paths with ease. Here’s to many more gluten-free adventures ahead!
