Northants Gluten Free Festival: Men Vs Gluten Panel at Chester House

There is something a bit different about being involved in a gluten free festival UK event that is much closer to home.

Big events are exciting, of course, but local ones have a different feel to them. They feel more personal. More familiar. More like the kind of place where proper conversations happen, where people recognise each other, and where gluten free living feels a little less like something you are dealing with on your own.

That is exactly why I am really looking forward to being part of the Northants Gluten Free Festival at Chester House as part of the Men Vs Gluten panel.

Event Details

I will be involved in the Northamptonshire Gluten Free Festival at Chester House as part of the Men Vs Gluten panel.

Location: Chester House
Date: 13th June 13:00

This local gluten free festival UK event is a great chance to bring people together, talk honestly about coeliac disease, and create the kind of conversations that do not always happen often enough.

The panel will focus on real life experiences of coeliac disease in men. Not the polished version. Not the over-explained version. Just the reality of living with it, dealing with it, and trying to make sense of it alongside normal life.

There will be honesty, a bit of humour, and the kind of discussion that probably sounds very familiar once people start talking properly.

Panel Update

There is a small change for this event.

Sonny is unfortunately unable to attend this one, which is a shame, but I am really pleased that Ben Attle (Coeliacs Like Beer) will be joining me on the panel instead.

Some of you may already know Ben through his work around gluten free beer and coeliac life. He brings a really useful perspective to the conversation, especially when it comes to navigating beer, social situations, and the parts of coeliac life that do not always get talked about enough.

It should make for a really good discussion, and I am looking forward to having him involved.

About Me

I am Ben Haggerty, the person behind The GF Table.

I was diagnosed with coeliac disease after years of symptoms and misdiagnosis, which is something I know a lot of people can relate to. What started as a way to make sense of that experience has turned into a platform focused on sharing practical advice, honest reviews, and real life experiences around gluten free living.

The aim has always been simple. Make gluten free foods easier to navigate, share what actually works, and be honest about the parts that are not always straightforward.

Everything I write and talk about comes from lived experience, and that is exactly what I will be bringing to the panel, alongside a bit of humour and the kind of honesty that only comes from living it day to day.

I’ve attended the last two gluten free festivals at Chester House and loved them both and last year i had the privilege of speaking, so being able to represent Men Vs Gluten will be a absolute pleasure. This was me last year 👇

What Is Men Vs Gluten?

Men Vs Gluten started from a simple idea.

There is still a gap when it comes to how coeliac disease is talked about, especially among men. A lot of it goes unspoken, brushed aside, or hidden behind “it is not that bad”.

The aim is to raise awareness, open up those conversations, and make coeliac life feel more relatable. Not polished. Not clinical. Just real experiences from people who are actually living it.

That is what Men Vs Gluten is really about. Making those conversations more visible and a lot less awkward.

What To Expect

This is not going to be a formal talk.

There are no slides, no scripts, and no pretending everything is straightforward.

What you can expect is:

  • Real life discussion
  • Honest experiences
  • A bit of humour along the way
  • The kind of conversations that usually happen after the event, not during it

The goal is simple. Make it feel like a proper conversation rather than something you just sit and listen to quietly.

If You’re Local, Come Along

If you are based in Northamptonshire or nearby, this is a great chance to come along, explore the festival, and get involved in the conversation. Get your tickets here 👇

Come and listen to the panel, have a wander around, and feel free to come and say hello afterwards. I am always happy to chat, especially when it comes to gluten free foods, shared experiences, or just figuring out what is worth trying on the day.

Are you planning to come along?

Some of the earlier images on this site are AI-generated because, let’s be honest, I had neither the time nor the skills to snap Pinterest-worthy photos while juggling another job. But hey, practice makes progress! These days, I’m feeling much braver behind the camera. Happy reading (and judging my photos), everyone!
